Frequently asked questions

Which of my Steam games can my PC run?

Sign in with Steam or paste your profile link and we check your whole library against your CPU, GPU and RAM. For every game you see whether it meets the minimum and recommended requirements and roughly how many FPS you can expect.

How many games can my PC run?

Check your library and you get the count straight away: how many of your games run great, how many are playable and how many run badly on your PC, plus the estimated FPS for each one. You can also filter by your FPS target.

How is this different from other “Can I run it” sites?

Most “can I run it” checkers test one game at a time and often need a download. Here you check your whole Steam library at once, right in the browser, with an estimated FPS for every game instead of just a pass or fail. See how it compares with Can You Run It.

Can I test my PC for games without downloading anything?

It is completely free and needs no download. Signing in with Steam is optional. You can paste any SteamID or profile link, or just type your hardware in by hand. The optional detector only reads your PC's parts, never your files.

How accurate are the FPS estimates?

The estimates come from each game's system requirements and a calculation model that is calibrated against more than 4,000 measured benchmarks from hardware reviews (among them PC Games Hardware, ComputerBase, Notebookcheck, TechSpot and Tom's Hardware) and real player reports. They are a guide, not a guarantee: drivers, patches and settings can shift real FPS.

Does it run on Steam Deck and Linux?

Yes. For every game it shows the Steam Deck Verified status and the ProtonDB rating for Linux, plus whether the game's anti-cheat works on Linux.

Can it help me plan a new PC?

Yes. The PC builder puts together a complete, compatible PC for the games you pick, with the estimated FPS in each game and the total price.

Is 8 GB of VRAM still enough in 2026?

For 1080p it is usually fine, but more and more new games want more at 1440p and 4K, especially with ray tracing or high-resolution textures. On each game's page you can see whether your card's VRAM is tight, and the check flags the games where 8 GB holds you back.

What is the difference between RAM and VRAM?

RAM is your PC's main memory, VRAM is the memory on the graphics card. Textures and other graphics data have to fit into VRAM, so a game can stutter or need lower settings with 8 GB of VRAM even if your PC has 32 GB of RAM. The check tests both and shows which one is short.

Do DLSS, FSR and XeSS help a weaker graphics card?

Yes, in games that support them. They render the game at a lower resolution and scale it up, which typically gives about 40 to 80 % more FPS when the graphics card is the limit (Quality to Performance mode). Frame generation adds more on top but does not make the game react faster. Pick an upscaling mode in the check to see the estimate with it.

What matters more for FPS, the graphics card or the processor?

In most games the graphics card sets the frame rate, so it is usually the bigger upgrade. The processor matters more at high frame rates and in strategy, simulation and heavily multiplayer games. For every game the check shows which part is holding you back.

How do I find out which graphics card and processor I have?

The optional detector reads your CPU, graphics card, RAM and VRAM in about a minute and fills them in; only the result is sent to this site, after you confirm. You can also type them in by hand, or paste Steam's system information (Help → System Information).

How do I check my PC hardware for games?

Type in your processor, graphics card, RAM and VRAM, or let the optional detector fill them in. This PC hardware check then compares your parts with the requirements of every game in your Steam library, or of any single game, and shows the estimated FPS and which part is holding you back. It all runs in your browser.

Will this game run on my computer?

Search any Steam game by name or store link, or open its "Can I run it?" page, to see the requirements and estimated FPS for popular graphics cards, no sign-in needed. Enter your own graphics card and processor there for your estimated FPS, before you buy.

Is this a Steam system requirements checker?

Yes. doesitrun is a free Steam system requirements checker: it checks every game in your Steam library against the minimum and recommended requirements of your PC, with an estimated FPS for each. You can also check a single Steam game without signing in.

Is there a Steam game compatibility checker for my whole library?

Yes. This is a Steam game compatibility checker that scans your whole library at once and shows, for each game, whether your PC meets the requirements, the expected FPS, and the Steam Deck and Linux compatibility.
