About this site
Hi, I'm Patrick – online I go by chicksaw. doesitrun.com is a one-person side project, not a company, and it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Valve or Steam.
It started when my graphics card died. While I was working out what to replace it with, I kept asking the same question about every game I owned: will this actually run on the new card? I couldn't find a tool that just answered that for a whole Steam library – without making me sign up, download something, or wade through ads. So I built one.
You sign in through Steam's own page (or just type your parts in by hand), and the site estimates the frame rate for every game in your library on your exact hardware – what runs great, what's borderline, and the cheapest upgrade that would fix it. How that estimate is calculated is explained openly on the methodology page.
What I promise
- No account, no download, no ads, no tracking. The site never sees your Steam password – you log in on steamcommunity.com and it only receives your public SteamID. It reads public profile data to do its job and doesn't sell or share it. Details are in the privacy policy.
- Nothing to take on trust blindly. You can check the site yourself with independent scanners (Google Safe Browsing, VirusTotal, SSL Labs, Mozilla Observatory) – the links are on the home page.
- It gets better with you. If you measure your real FPS in a game, you can report it, and it improves the estimates for everyone.
Found a bug, got an idea, or want to say hi? Drop me a message. If the tool saved you some money or a bad purchase, that already makes it worth it.
