Terms of use
This is a translation. The German version is the legally binding one. Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Provider and scope
doesitrun.com (the "site") is run by Patrick Layh (address in the imprint). These terms cover the use of the site, the embed snippets, the public API and the Discord bot "doesitrun" (together the "service"). The service is a private, free project with no account; no contract for a paid service is formed.
2. What the service does and does not do
The service compares the hardware you enter, or that it reads through Steam, with the system requirements publishers list for games, and estimates a frame rate (FPS) from that. Every result is an estimate based on publicly available data and a calculation model; it is not a measurement and not a promise that a game will or will not run on your device. How the estimate is made and how accurate it is, is explained on Methodology & accuracy. Check important decisions (buying a game or hardware) yourself as well, for example through the retailer's return policy.
The PC builder and the buy buttons are suggestions; the purchase itself is made with the retailer under its terms. Links marked with an asterisk are affiliate links (advertising), see the privacy policy.
3. Permitted use
You may use the service for your own purposes, link to any page, embed the snippets and the badge from button for your site, quote individual results with a link to doesitrun.com and use the public API to the extent described in the imprint (section Copyright, database and API).
Not permitted: disrupting or overloading the service, circumventing its protections (rate limits, signature checks, one-time codes), extracting substantial parts of the data automatically, rebuilding or redistributing them as your own dataset, using the service for unlawful purposes, or passing yourself off as another person or as this site.
4. Steam sign-in and Discord
Signing in with Steam reads only publicly visible data (game list, wishlist, friends list), creates no account at doesitrun.com and can be ended at any time. Valve's terms apply to your Steam account. This site is not affiliated with Valve or Steam.
The Discord bot answers the /doesitrun command with the same estimate as the site. Discord's terms apply to the use of Discord; these terms apply to the bot. Server owners can remove the bot at any time.
5. Content submitted by users
Signed-in users can submit short tips about games, measured FPS values and hardware details. You confirm that you hold the rights to this content, that it does not infringe third-party rights, and that it contains no unlawful, insulting or promotional content and no personal data of other people.
By submitting, you grant me a simple, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to publish, shorten and translate the content on the site, in the API and in the Discord bot, and to use it to improve the estimates (calibrating the model). Tips appear only after review; I may decline or remove content without giving reasons. You can ask for your content to be deleted at any time through the contact form.
6. Availability and changes
The service is provided as is. There is no entitlement to any particular availability, to particular features or to continuation. I may change, limit or discontinue features, the API, the bot and the site at any time.
7. Liability
I am liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health. In cases of ordinary negligence I am liable only for the breach of an essential contractual obligation (one whose fulfilment makes use of the service possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely), and then only for the foreseeable, typical damage. Any further liability is excluded. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
In particular, I am not liable for an estimate being accurate, for a game running on your device, for purchase decisions you make on the basis of an estimate, or for the content of linked third-party sites and retailers.
8. Changes to these terms
I may change these terms when the service, the legal situation or the technical circumstances change. The current version is shown on this page with its date. Continuing to use the service after a change means using it under the changed terms.
9. Governing law, final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. If you are a consumer resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country remain unaffected. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
Questions about these terms: kontakt@doesitrun.com or the contact form.
